The Ontario Government has passed a law which requires all Chinese Medical Practitioners and /or Acupuncturists must be a registrant of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. This takes effect as of April 1, 2013 and it is against the law for anyone to practise the said trade(s) without such recognition thereafter.

In order to enroll in this professional liability insurance program, the applicant must be registered with the above college in good standing with a specific title and designation. It is understood and agreed by the applicant that the indemnity provided by the policy WILL NOT RESPOND TO ANY UNLAWFUL ACT OF ACTS.

College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA)

CTCMA is an official professional regulatory authority established in 1996 by the Government of British Columbia, Canada to regulate the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture in the Province. CTCMA is an expansion of the original College of Acupuncturists of British Columbia. The College is a self regulatory body that operates under the auspices of the Provincial Government and through the Health Professions Act, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists Regulation, and CTCMA Bylaws.

Effective April 12, 2003, a valid registration (professional licence) issued by CTCMA is required in order to practise TCM and acupuncture in British Columbia.
